Join Toby Simpson for a post-harvest/pre-drilling look at a range of summer cover, catch crop, and cover crop successes or failures! “We will explore the good, bad and ugly following what is likely to be another challenging harvest.

“We will analyse a range of cover cropping objectives including nutrient capture and cycling, improved biological, chemical and physical soil function, enhanced air and water quality, alongside grazing potential. Also looking at how these are fitting in with new SFI scheme options and the role they play in our farming system.”

Anglian Water will share key information on the role cover cropping can play in keeping our waterways clean. Toby Simpson will discuss thoughts and findings post his Nuffield Farming Scholarship on catch and cover cropping opportunities in UK arable agriculture, looking at the practicalities of cover cropping and different approaches around the world.

This event will be a great opportunity for farmers to share experiences and ideas in an informal discussion setting.
