Volunteer Work Weekend: Wetland Restoration in Comanche Creek

Description

Please join Quivira and restoration experts Bill Zeedyk, Jeff Adams, Jan-Willem Jansens, Mark Reineke, Margie Tatro, and Richard Smith in work to improve wetland function and to keep the creeks flowing in the Valle Vidal. We are testing aspects of Keyline Design for headwater slope wetlands and will be showing the effects of our 2018 efforts as well as building new treatment structures.

Friday and Saturday, we will be working in the Holman Creek Wetland Complex (tributaries to Comanche Creek). We will be moving rocks, sod, and logs. Come to get muddy and then to relax in camp with friends old and new.

After you have registered, you will receive a workshop packet (2 PDF files), which will contain everything you need in advance, including a map and directions to the workshop camp site.
