The UNCCD CSO Panel in conjunction with the British Society of Soil Science is pleased to announce a webinar on Civil Society Perspectives which will take place on Friday 6 March from 13:00 – 14:00 GMT. Join Andy Morris and Sopiko Babalashvili as they discuss Civil Society Perspectives on Drought-Resilient Territories. This session will be a regional consultation for Western, Central, and Eastern Europe and North America. While national drought policies and action plans are advancing, important gaps remain. Civil society organizations working at the territorial and community levels hold indispensable knowledge for strengthening drought resilience. The regional consultation organized by the UNCCD CSO Panel aims to collect on-the-ground realities and needs of sub-regions/territories in the Western, Central, and Eastern Europe and North America regions that might be missed or insufficiently reflected in global drought policy discussions, as well as evidence-based and promising solutions to be scaled up for enhancing the resilience of territories to drought. The consultation particularly seeks grassroots and marginalized voices and sub-regional and territorial diversity.
