Webinar – Soil Carbon Sequestration: A Systems Perspective

05/18/2021

Panel discussion of Soil Carbon Sequestration: what’s involved for productive Agriculture and Climate Restoration.

The panel will present key elements of Soil Carbon Sequestration and its impact on climate restoration and restoring soil conditions for productive agricultural purposes. The discussion will cover soil carbon capacity, soil measurements and agronomic data, economics of soil capture, benefits regarding drought, flooding, and humanitarian stewardship, food security and supply chain management. To adapt to regenerative practices, farmers will need support from across all business sectors, which includes the engagement of policymakers and industry to work and explore how to collaborate to restore our soils with carbon to restore our climate. These issues include:

  • The economics of Regenerative Agriculture and Soil Carbon Sequestration
  • Agriculture impacts on food security and the food supply chain
  • Monitoring methods and accuracy of measurements and data in soil organic (carbon) content
  • Resiliency of soil and importance in flooding, drought, humanitarian crisis, desertification, and food supply
  • Regenerating the earth and what the soil can contribute (importance of soil depth contributions)
  • Why soil carbon sequestration can have a significant impact on climate restoration
