Webinar – What Does It Mean for Soil to Be Biologically Active?

06/16/2021

Research Ecologist Dr. Alan Franzluebbers presents on the importance of soil biota to soil health.

Soil is alive! A plethora of organisms (mostly microbial) inhabit and manipulate soil to transform it from a loose assemblage of sand, silt, and clay particles into a dynamic, living, breathing entity. This presentation will describe how management of soil can be fostered to promote biological activity, as well as how we can measure soil biological activity and what it means for the development of a natural resource that can sustain our lives.

This presentation will be given by Alan Franzluebbers, Research Ecologist, USDA Agricultural Research Service, Raleigh NC
