What are weeds? Are they plants out of place, indicators of soil health, or vital ground cover? Yes, they are all these things, but it is more complicated than that. It depends on both the plant and the productions system.
Classic weeds are plants that produce many seeds to rapidly colonize an environment and increase organic matter. They fill roles and gaps that exist in a field.
Understanding the complexity of weeds and why they are there helps in figuring out how to manage them. We will combine experiences and science, and explore this subject at this workshop.
