Co-hosted by SAFSF and Funders for Regenerative Agriculture (FORA)
Representative Chellie Pingree (D-ME), a member of the House Committee on Agriculture and an organic farmer herself, recently reintroduced one of the largest climate-focused “marker bills” for inclusion in the 2023 Farm Bill. The Agriculture Resilience Act (ARA) is broken into six parts: Research, soil health, farmland protection, pasture-based livestock, energy and food waste. Among many impactful priorities, it would ensure existing agricultural research programs prioritize climate change research, establish a new soil health grant program for states and tribal governments, and create a standardized food date label.
Join us to hear from leading policy experts and voices from the field about how provisions in the ARA empower impactful farmer-led climate solutions and present a science-based roadmap toward a sustainable 2023 Farm Bill. In addition to an understanding of the ARA, you will leave this webinar with tools to recognize and support impactful policy solutions and advocacy campaigns.
